After transgender athlete Alicia Rowley won the women’s national competition, Martina Navratilova attacked the US Tennis Association, saying the sport is “not for failed male athletes.”

The US Tennis Association (USTA) has come under fire from Martina Navratilova for its views on transgender athletes participating in women’s tennis competitions.

It coincides with the news that transgender tennis player Alicia Rowley is the most recent competitor to win “the coveted Golden Ball” and a Women’s National Tennis Championship.

Rowley just won the National Indoor Singles and Doubles Championship and the 55+ Grass Court National Championship for women, according to a tweet from the Independent Council On Women’s Sports (ICONS).
